A recent engineered wood floor restoration project took Jordan to a mews property in Lowry Hill in Carlisle. The floor in question had been laid 10 years ago and was in pretty poor condition, with lots of scrapes and scratches. The floor had been laid with an engineered wood product with a 6mm walnut finish. These older engineered wood planks had definitely seen better days.
After clearing the last few remaining obstructions Jordan set to work sanding the walnut layer down to remove the scratches and blemishes. As the property was on the first floor, it meant carefully carrying the Lagler dust free sanding machines up the stairs before we could start work. Sanding the floor right up to the skirting boards left a pristine walnut surface which was ready for lacquering. Jason then applied 3 coats of commercial grade, heavy duty, low maintenance, satin lacquer with a quick drying time. Our efficient sanding and re finishing is tried and tested.
A final clean up left our customer with a beautiful, new looking floor with the natural walnut restored.
Donna then sent the cleaning and maintenance instructions so that the homeowners had a better grasp of the essential care for their newly restored floor. It should be good for at least another 10 years.
